Since 2015, Suzy Kolber has served as the host of the Monday Night Football pregame show on ESPN. On Friday, June 30, 2023, she announced her dismissal via social media.

ESPN reportedly laid off 20 of their on-air employees. Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson appears to have also lost his job. The cutbacks have affected employees at all levels of ESPN including editorial staff, long-serving directors and now on-air crew.

Suzy Kolber started working in 1984 while still a college student. She later joined ESPN in 1993, where she earned numerous promotions throughout the years. When she was fired, Kolber was one of ESPN’s highest-paid sports TV analysts and earned $3 million a year.

Kolber was raised by a Jewish family in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Sandy Run Middle School in Dresher, Pennsylvania and graduated from Upper Dublin High School there in 1982. In 1986, she earned her degree from the University of Miami.
Suzy earned a berth on the school football squad at the age of ten. She resigned, nonetheless, due to her parents and adμlts’ vehement opposition. Kolber earned a Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications from the University of Miami in 1986.
She was a member of the University of Miami water ski team and worked as a sports director for Dynamic Cable in Coral Gables, Florida from 1984 to 1986. She began working as a videotape coordinator at CBS Sports in New York City the day after graduating.
Kolber won a local Sports Emmy in 1988 for producing the 5:30 p.m. ET sportscast at WTVJ-TV in Miami from 1985 to 1989. She worked as a contract specials producer for Miami’s WPLG-TV from 1989 to 1990.
Additionally, she created two magazine programs: Cowboys Special Edition in Irving, Texas and Greyhound Racing America in Miami, Florida.
One of Kolber’s 1991 freelancing jobs was as a reporter/producer for Breeders’ Cup Newsfeed in Greenwich, Connecticut. Kolber also worked as a field producer for Inside Edition in New York City, produced sports specials for WCIX-TV in Miami and produced and directed NFL Films.
