Baltimore broke things open in the bottom of the eighth inning. After walking Urías (who was pinch-run for by Ryan McKenna), John Schreiber replaced Matt Barnes on the mound. Schreiber then hit Austin Hays and walked Rougned Odor to load the bases. Jorge Mateo brought home McKenna, Hays and Odor with a line-drive double to left field.

Xander Bogaerts launched his 10th home run of the year in the top of the ninth inning, a solo shot, to bring the Red Sox one run closer, but it wouldn’t be enough.

The Orioles are 63-58 on the season, sitting at fourth in the American League East, while the Red Sox are fifth at 60-62.

MLB announced during the game that the Washington Nationals will play the Philadelphia Phillies in next year’s Little League Classic. The 2022 Little League World Series began on Aug. 17 and runs through Aug. 28.
